Presentation Founded on August 15th, 2003, FCPC is a non-profit entity, based in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, with a proposal to spread the image and the exceptional work of the planet’s most read and loved writer, and to gather the largest possible number of fans through this site. The simplicity and the writer's closeness to his readers consolidated my dream of attending the ceremony of acceptance of membership in the Brazilian Academy of Letters (October 28, 2002). Right after that unforgettable night, came the desire of starting a Fan club for the author in hope of being closer to his readers and admirers. After an extensive research work, to my surprise, I found many groups of discussions in several sites in the Internet, as well as some pages developed by fans. However, an Official Fan-club didn't exist. That’s when the idea developed in my mind, to start this site, as an expression of affection and recognition to my favorite author, your favorite author, our favorite author, founding The Paulo Coelho Fan Club. In the beginning the site was only in Portuguese. Today the Fan-club is crossing borders, internationalizing more and more, in the intention of creating a gigantic network of “Coelhomaniacs”, proving that Paulo Coelho’s talent has the magic power of uniting nations of different cultures and several languages, and that, inspired by his brilliant work, the readers know how to face their challenges, change directions and begin to take different roads in pursuit of their personal legend. I hope that all the fans and visitors appreciate the site, and enjoy the information and photos published here.
